Skywood / Skylonda Neighborhood Real Estate Insider

Homes in the Skywood and Skylonda neighborhoods are priced between $749,000 and $2 million with the median home in 2006 priced around $1.5 million. There are about 75 homes in Skywood, mostly custom-built with a mix of quaint cabins and remodeled ranch style houses. Many residents leave a portion of their yards undeveloped, giving the area an open, natural landscape.

Skywood is located up Highway 84, about 15 minutes away from Highway 280. Six streets make up the neighborhood, with several of them leading directly into a network of trails in Wunderlich County Park where locals and tourists alike come to hike, walk and ride horses.

Skylonda is developed around the intersection of La Honda Road and Skyline Boulevard. Residents in both Skywood and Skylonda keep in touch through the neighborhood association and a bulletin board posted at Four Corners, at Highway 84 and Highway 35. Four Corners offers dining, shopping, gas stations, grocery stores and the local Alice’s Restaurant where neighbors convene and socialize.

Weekends bring bikers, hikers and motorcyclists from out of town to Four Corners. While outsiders generally blend well with the locals, and spend money at restaurants and local businesses, speeding motorcycles and increased traffic can sometimes pose a safety concern.

In addition to the everyday interactions at Four Corners, the neighborhood comes together for holiday celebrations and events, such as an Easter egg hunt, a Christmas party and an annual neighborhood garage sale.
