Evergreen Park Neighborhood —A nice place to take your family for a stroll
Located between El Camino Real, Park Boulevard and Page Mill Road, Evergreen Park, Palo Alto is a family-friendly haven from speeding traffic and the fast-paced lifestyle of today’s society. Supported by the Evergreen Park Neighborhood Association, this community is constantly working towards creating a safe, peaceful environment for families to raise children. Many residents move into Evergreen Park as a starter community, but find themselves falling in love with the neighborhood and staying.
Evergreen Park Neighborhood Real Estate Insider
Considering the high cost of living in Palo Alto, Evergreen Park has homes that are accessibly priced. With houses ranging from $1.4 million to $2.1 million and condos available between $458,000 and $825,000, Evergreen Park is an attractive place for young couples looking to start a family to consider. Houses are generally modest, suburban homes. Renovators should note that The City of Palo Alto enforces strict maximum floor area ratios in order to retain the city’s character.
Once populated by retirees and empty-nesters, Evergreen Park has recently focused on appealing to young professionals and new families. Road blocks make Evergreen Park a bit confusing to navigate, but create streets that are safe for bicyclists, pedestrians and children at play. Trees shade the streets, making the outdoors an excellent place to meet and greet neighbors and friends.
The Evergreen Park Neighborhood Association works to maintain a safe and supportive community for children, recently lobbying the city to address dry rot at Peers Park and address the growing problem of speeding motorists.
Evergreen Park is also convenient because of its proximity to the train station, the business and services along California Avenue and Stanford. Alexander Peers Park is located in the neighborhood and the College Terrace branch library is on Wellesley Street.
Evergreen Park Neighborhood School Information
Evergreen Park students attend Escondido Elementary School, which offers high international representation and a Spanish-emersion program. Middle school students attend Jordan Middle School before moving on to Palo Alto High School, which scores relatively high on the API. There is also the private school, the Living Wisdom School.
