Living in Crescent Park is made pleasant by proximity to schools and downtown Palo Alto, tree-lined streets, a balance of old and new homes, low traffic and little noise. Nearby shopping is available at the Edgewood Shopping Center and Eleanor Pardee Park and Hopkins Creekside Park are also within walking distance.
The neighborhood often comes together for block parties, potlucks, and Fourth of July celebrations as well as to simply to walk kids to the nearby Duveneck Elementary School.
The Crescent Park Neighborhood Association brings the community together to address issues and concerns, such as the flooding of San Francisquito Creek. The association has been lobbying the city for years to take action on the infrequent, though costly flooding.
Other concerns have been raised about the increasing traffic, which has been met with mixed success. Speed bumps and islands have been placed on Channing Avenue as well as some supplemental stop signs at notably dangerous intersections. Recently, six-foot walls have built along homes on University Avenue, in order to provide a noise buffer from traffic.
Crescent Park Neighborhood School Information
Students in Crescent Park attend Duveneck Elementary School, Jordan Middle School and Palo Alto High School, which are part of the Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD). PAUSD is an outstanding district amongst other Santa Clara County schools and consistently scores very high on the API. Also, all PAUSD schools are required to submit accountability reports to the community, which can be viewed on the Internet.
