Sylvan Park Neighborhood Real Estate Insider
Sylvan Park real estate is highly accessible, offering both “starter” houses and places to settle down. Structures range from apartment complexes to two-story single family homes. There is even a mobile home estate, ideal for senior citizens looking to remain independent while staying close to their hme community. The median home in 2006 sold for $860,000 and the median condo sold for around $578,000, though some homes sold for up to $1.2 million.
Architecturally, the homes within the Mountain View neighborhood draw from designs from more modern recent styles to the traditional structures of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Single-story homes can be seen perched next to renovated two-story homes and modern or brand new homes as well.
The park is a source for recreation as well as a meeting place for community events. There is a playground, a horseshoe area, tennis courts and a picnic space, which is the site of the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Associations’ yearly 4th of July BBQ.
Aside from organizing annual community events, the association is also instrumental in protecting community interests. For example, the association fought down a proposed Home Depot in 2002, as well as other unwanted development.
