Cuesta Park Neighborhood —A quiet Mountain View neighborhood with a 25-acre park and excellent schools
Cuesta Park is one of Mountain View's quieter neighborhoods, known by its enormous 25 acre namesake park. Many residents have moved in to this neighborhood intending to stay only a couple of years, but most grow attached to it and make it their home for years to come, including Mountain View vice-mayor Greg Perry.
Cuesta Park Neighborhood Real Estate Insider
The median home in Cuesta Park sold for around $1 million in 2006, with other homes being priced as low as $848,000 and as high as $1.3 million. A handful of condos are also available, selling at a median price of $415,000 in 2006.
Homes within the Mountain View neighborhood range in style from newer houses for established families and multi-family dwellings for young professionals looking to start new families. Some homes are owned by their original owners and have retained their historic charm.
The greatest amenity in Cuesta Park are, of course, the parks. Bubb Park ad Cuesta Park provide peaceful paths for strolling, biking or walking dogs as well as a place for the community to meet. Once a year, the neighborhood convenes for a summer family picnic, and in the past has gathered for a safety fair, a garden tour and caroling.
There is also a neighborhood association that was put in place to address community concerns. One such ongoing concern has been over Cuesta Park Annex, an undeveloped section where the Bubb family orchards once stood. Proposals to develop the area have been voted down in favor of preserving the land for use as a historical site.
Other issues are relatively few and far between. There are no great traffic concerns, as the lack of through streets reduces the amount of motorists passing through the neighborhood and the city has been responsive to traffic complaints in the past.
Nearby shopping is available at Grant Park Plaza on Grant Road at El Camio Real and Blossom Valley Shopping Center on Miramonte Avenue.
